MISSING YSR ON HIS FIRST DEATH ANNIVERSARY – THE IRON MAN OF AP – Time to remember Iron man of AP Shri Y S Rajsheker Reddy, he was a goofriend of mine, a visionary, a politician par excellence, he knew the tricks of trade he knew how to win elections, and above all was loyal party wroker for Congress and its leader Sonia Gandhi. Congress is going to miss him very badly in the coming 2014 Elections.
He was a brave person with a great heart, which could feel the pain of the people poor and the downtrodden in the society, and minorities of AP. I would like to remember him as this will be the year when YSR is not with the people of Andhra Pradesh who will go for admission to various course in the State, Scholarships, Reservations and alotments in Govt jobs will be mad. This should be the goal of all who fast, refrain form all acts which are forbidden during the time one fasts, and the liberty with which we are attracted towards deeds of goodness in the absence of the Iblis who is imprisoned during the month of Ramadan and is stripped of the powers to misguide and distract the good among the men on earth, during the month of Ramadan.
How will we be able to keep Iblis, in chains even after Ramadan, so that iblis will not deter us from the path of Allah and obedience towards Him, and being kind and just to my family, friends, neighborhood, fellow workers, and remain committed to my responsibilities, and commitments. The Sahitya Akademi translation awards presentation ceremony was held on August 20 at the Kala Academy’s Dinanath Mangeshkar hall. The welcome speech was delivered by the secretary of Sahitya Akademi, Mr. Agrahar Krishnamurti. The president of Sahitya Akademi, Mr Sunil Gangopadhyay presided over the function.
The chief guest for the function was eminent Malayalam writer, M T Vasudevan Nair. The vice-president of Sahitya Akademi, Mr Sutindar Singh Noor presented the vote of thanks.
Translators of 23 languages were awarded for their contribution on the occasion including Asma Saleem, the translation award winner in Urdu, 2009.
